With Science Detectives: Mystery Files, students examine unusual claims, sort through scientific evidence, identify misconceptions, and decide what the science really shows.

Each mystery begins with a claim that may sound impossible, exaggerated, or completely false. Students make a prediction, examine four pieces of evidence, and determine whether each piece supports or does not support the claim. They then revise their thinking and explain their conclusion.
